About the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation

The Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation (Intact Centre) is a national research hub at the University of Waterloo, focused on mitigating extreme weather and climate change effects. 

In partnership with homeowners, communities, governments, and businesses, the centre fosters innovative adaptation ideas, conducts research, and promotes initiatives to reduce climate-related risks like heatwaves, wildfires, and flooding. 

The centre was established in 2015 with the generous support of Intact Financial Corporation.
